As Android 12 gets closer, Samsung has officially announced a One Watch UI 4 beta programme.
The Google operating system’s latest version is due to arrive in October. South Korea appears to have a slight advantage in providing its own version.
This means Galaxy S21 owners living in “selected markets”, including the US, can now enrol in the beta to begin testing some of the new features before they arrive officially.
To register your interest, owners of any Galaxy S21 can use the Samsung Members app to do so.
Typically, Samsung’s flagship phones receive the latest Android version just before the end. However, One UI programs are usually delivered in October, so there is a possibility that the company’s phones will get the update a little earlier.
We know that One Watch UI 4 has been inspired by the changes made to Android 12. This means that there are now more options for widgets and themes, home screens, notifications appearance and icons, along with new privacy features.
One UI 4 will now display indicator alerts when an app uses the microphone or camera. Permission history will also be displayed, extending from 24 hours up to seven days.
There are many more tweaks One UI 4 will offer, and changes could also occur between beta testing and full release. But, for now, we’ll just wait and see.
