What is an upgrade?
Consumers can upgrade their contracts to keep up with changes in the mobile phone industry.
An upgrade is usually a move to a better-suited contract, which generally includes an improved data plan, more text messages, or simply a change to a newer phone. At NIX, we allow you to upgrade to a brand new sim-free device, any time you want.
What time can I upgrade?
Mobile phone contracts usually have a short term. Depending on the contract, it could be for one, 18 or two years.
It is unnecessary to wait for the end of your contract to upgrade your phone or contract plan. You can upgrade your phone or contract plan up to 30 days before the end of your current contract, depending on which network you are on. With EE, you can upgrade up to 45 days before your contract expires, and Vodafone allows you to upgrade up 30 days prior. You can upgrade up to 45 days before the deadline, but this may result in an early upgrade fee.

What handsets can you upgrade to?
You can upgrade to any handset with most networks, even if your new handset has a greater feature set than your current handset.
Many networks allow you to upgrade to any handset you choose. You might find that your monthly contract fee increases if the phone you choose an upgrade. Alternatively, you could see a decrease if you switch to a more modest model. It all depends on your network and the amount of text, minutes or data allowances you receive each month.
