There’s a Huawei phone to suit every budget, whether you need a flagship phone or a cheap one. These are the top Huawei phones.

Huawei quickly rose to be one of the most significant mobile players globally, surpassing Apple for the number 2 spot in global smartphone sales. The US ban on Huawei’s global smartphone sales in 2019 halted its progress just as it was starting to get going.

1 Huawei P30 Pro – Best overall

The P30 Pro is a great phone. Even after two years, the design is excellent, the display is stunning, and the cameras are the finest ever. It has seen a drop in prices since its launch in early 2019 and is a great value compared to other flagships.

The P30 is the best Huawei on the market, even after 2 years.

2 Huawei Mate 20 Pro – Great design

The Mate 20 Pro is an excellent phone and even more so at current low prices.

Many people will focus on the cameras, but this is a great all-rounder with a high-quality screen, wireless charging, and excellent battery life.

3 Huawei P30 – Great value

Huawei’s pitch to the P30 was all about the camera. It’s safe to say that Huawei has delivered. Although the Pro model is a step ahead of many other high-end phones, this model still has plenty of potentials.

Huawei excels in low light and long-distance shots. They have three unique lenses and some software tricks that are hard to match by Google’s Pixel phones.

The P30 is also stunning with its large display (and small number), beautiful colourful finishes and a slim body. There’s also a headphone jack.

4 Huawei Mate 20 X – Best for gaming

A giant Huawei phone is just as good as the Mate 20 Pro, with almost the same specs. While you lose the display’s fidelity, water resistance, and wireless charging, you get a headphone socket, fingerprint sensor, and a larger battery.

The X is a great media choice if you are a fan of video and game streaming on the go. It’s a great device at 7.2 inches, which is too much for most people. But don’t let that stop you from loving this Mate.

5 Huawei P20 Pro – Great camera

The P20 Pro, even though it is two years old, is still a fantastic phone. The P20 Pro is an excellent phone for photography. There are some issues, such as the lack of stabilisation in 4K video shooting and no headphone jack or wireless charging.

You get the whole package with the dual SIM slots, long battery life and great screen. This phone was a top-rated smartphone in 2018 and is still an intelligent bargain buy.

6 Huawei Mate X2 – Best foldable

Huawei has had some practice making foldables, and the Mate X2 shows that the company is a master of this form factor.

The Mate X2’s vertical folding design is stunning and packed with power. This device is also the most popular foldable camera right now by a wide margin.

7 Huawei P40 Pro – Best for photography

This is an excellent follow-up to the Huawei P40 Pro, which was one of the best smartphones in 2019. The Huawei P40 Pro excels in all areas, with top-tier performance, the latest 5G/WiFi 6 networking technologies, excellent battery life and fast charger, a fantastic camera setup both front and back, and an eye-catching 90Hz “Overflow” display.

The P40 Pro is great, but the user experience is not as pleasant without Google Mobile Services.

8 Huawei Mate 40 Pro – Best for videography

The Mate 40 Pro is a great device with special hardware that can take incredible photos and videos. It also has a beautiful design and top-tier performance. However, this device cannot be used outside China.

Warnings are everywhere when you use apps. Huawei’s website requires you to agree to a warning message about GMS’ absence before you can purchase one.

9 Huawei P40 – Well-rounded

Although the P40 is not equipped with the Pro or Pro+ features, it can still compete with most 2020 flagships in photography and raw performance. It beat the Galaxy S20 Ultra in most benchmark testing.

The smartphone is also attractive with its unique matte glass rear finish gives it a soft touch sheen. There’s also a bright, crisp OLED display of 6.1in to enjoy.

The real problem is the absence of Google Play services. Huawei has beaten its competitors by offering a substantial discount on flagship-level hardware, but you won’t be able to access Google Maps or YouTube properly.

The P40 is an excellent phone for those who are confident in their tech skills and don’t mind sideloading apps or working within a Google-less environment however, if you want something that just works right out of the box, we recommend another model.

10 Huawei Pro+ P40 – The most powerful

The P40 Pro+ has some of our favorite cameras. It’s difficult to recommend this phone unless you want to have the best camera and the ability to use all the apps not available on the Pro+.
