Smartphones have been using wireless charging more frequently in recent years. Wireless charging pads are replacing traditional connector cables. These are available directly from the manufacturer of your smartphone or at retailers.

What is wireless charging?

When plugged in and turned on, a wireless charging plate creates an electromagnetic field. The smartphone is placed on top of the matching internal Qi wireless technology wire coils, and an electric current flows between them.

There are many options for Android and Apple devices. Many of these handsets offer wireless charging capabilities.

Compatible with wireless charging for iPhones

Apple’s wireless iPhone charging was launched in 2017 with the iPhone 8 and iPhone X models. Apple chose to replace the sturdy steel body with a sleek new glass exterior, which was a significant change in design. The wireless charging feature was enabled, unlike its metallic predecessors.

Both iPhone series have since been discontinued, but wireless charging is still present in all iPhone models, which has been a significant improvement in efficiency and approach.

The following iPhone models can be charged wirelessly:

* iPhone XR

* iPhone SE (second Generation)

* iPhone 11

* iPhone 11 Pro

* iPhone 11 Pro Max

* iPhone 12

* iPhone 12 Mini

* iPhone 12 Pro

* iPhone 12 Pro Max

With the introduction of MagSafe technology, Apple’s wireless charging capabilities were made available to the iPhone 12. This progressive step allows faster charging by using concentrated ring magnets to ensure the device and charging pad are immediately connected. The standard HTML7.5W charging power has been increased by two to achieve a peak performance of up to 15W.

Samsung Phones compatible with wireless charging

In 2012, the first handsets with wireless charging capabilities hit the market. The Samsung Galaxy S3 was one of these innovative devices. Samsung continues to use wireless charging in their handsets. In 2015, Samsung launched the Galaxy S6 model and Galaxy S6 edge models – the first handsets to support Qi technology. The tech giant is now the largest manufacturer of Android phones that support wireless charging, with all of its Galaxy models capable of supporting it.

Samsung has also developed a wireless charging method that’s faster than the standard speed and compatible with Samsung’s own chargers. All Samsung handsets are Qi-certified and are compatible with any Qi wireless charger. This advanced charging technology, Fast wireless Charging 2.0, is now in its second stage. It offers a 10W+ charge.

The following Samsung Galaxy smartphones can be charged wirelessly:

* Samsung Galaxy S20FE 4G

* Samsung Galaxy S20FE 5G

* Samsung Galaxy S21

* Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus

* Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra

* Samsung Galaxy A52 5G

Does wireless charging affect battery life?

Each person has their own way of charging their phone. Some people wait until their battery is almost empty, while others keep it fully charged at all times. The rest of us are somewhere in the middle.

Smartphones come with a lithium-ion battery, which you can expect to last a finite amount of time. Apple devices, for example, are capable of holding 80% of their total capacity even after 500 charging cycles, meaning that you won’t charge your phone too much, regardless of whether you use a wired or wireless charger.

Remember, heat can affect your battery life and should be considered when charging your phone. Avoid any immediate dangers by taking off your phone’s cover and placing it on the charging pad. Many wireless chargers are equipped with cooling and fans to reduce potential worries.

What are the advantages of charging your phone wirelessly?

Wireless charging pads are much more durable than traditional cables that can be damaged or worn. Because handsets place less stress on the charging ports, this reduces wear and tear. This development means that no wires can fray, reducing the chance of repetitive damage over time.

Many handsets that have wireless charging capabilities are also equipped with a reverse charge feature so you can share your phone’s power with compatible wireless charger phones and accessories when another device is low.

Wireless charging works great if your phone is being charged periodically throughout the day. To avoid being hunched over a plug socket while on long calls or scrolling through social media, you can just place it on the charging port.
