iPhone SE 3 Price, Release Date, News, And Every Leak Thus Far

The iPhone SE 3 will not be named that when it finally comes out. It’ll probably follow the iPhone SE 2020’s naming convention, with the year of its release in the title. We don’t know when the next affordable iPhone will be released at this time.

The iPhone SE (2020), one of the most anticipated iPhones in 2020, was a compact and affordable iPhone that offered excellent Apple software and hardware at an affordable price. How can Apple surpass that?

The iPhone SE 3 is the third-generation model in the line. It follows the 2016 and 2020 models. This age gap might suggest that we will be waiting four more years for the iPhone SE 3. However, the 2020 model was so well-received, we don’t think we’ll have to wait as long. Rumours point to a launch in 2022.

What do we now about the iPhone SE 3

The latest news

The future iPhone SE may have a Face ID and a notched display, but it’s uncertain if this change will be made in time for the iPhone SE 3. Many of the specs for the iPhone SE 3 have been leaked.

Below, however, you will find the information we have received and a wish list of what the iPhone SE 3 might offer.

Let’s get to the point.

  • It is what? It’s the next affordable iPhone
  • When will it be released? Uncertain, but it may not be until 2022
  • What will it cost? Most likely around PS419

iPhone SE 3 price and release date

The iPhone SE 3 was rumoured to be arriving at Apple’s Spring Loaded event, which would have been one year after the iPhone SE (2020), launched. But it didn’t.

We aren’t surprised, though, since we’ve seen some leaks and rumours suggesting there won’t even be an iPhone SE 3 in this year’s lineup. This is perhaps to give the iPhone 13 mini more attention, so we may be waiting for the phone for a while – if it ever arrives.

One may be available in 2022 if that’s true. Rumours have also suggested that the iPhone 14 mini won’t be released. This means that Apple may rely on its SE line to satisfy smaller phone users. Many rumours suggest a release in 2022, and sources indicate that the phone will be available for purchase in the first half.

There’s also the iPhone SE Plus. It was rumoured that this would land after the iPhone SE (2020), but we haven’t heard much about it lately. Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst with a strong track record in Apple matters, claimed back in April 2020 the iPhone SE Plus wouldn’t land until the second quarter of 2021.

This could be the iPhone SE 3 that ends up here, or we might get an iPhone SE 3 Plus and an iPhone SE 3 Plus. It’s difficult to know at the moment.

The price is not a surprise. However, the iPhone SE (2020), starts at PS419. So the iPhone SE 3 will likely have a similar price, if perhaps slightly more.

iPhone SE 3 news, leaks, and rumors

A number of possible specifications have been revealed by the biggest iPhone SE 3 leak. The phone will be equipped with an A15 Bionic chipset (the same as the iPhone 13 range) and 5G support. However, it might look similar to the iPhone SE 3, which has the same heavy bezel and 4.7-inch LCD display.

It may also have a 4.7-inch LCD display and 5G support.

A15 Bionic chipset could also be possible, as the iPhone SE (2020) had the best iPhone chipset at the time. This will likely be the A15.

We’ve also heard that Apple may add Face ID to the next iPhone SE model. This would likely result in a significant change to the design. There will no longer be a home button or a notch. The iPhone SE 3 leaks suggest that this design change could be more distant (if it ever happens).

What we want to see

The iPhone SE 2020 is great, but there’s always room to improve. Here’s what we expect from the iPhone SE 3.

A modern design

The iPhone SE (2020), has an outdated design. It is undoubtedly older than the rest. We’d love to see the iPhone SE updated.

For a modern look, we suggest getting rid of the home button as well as the large bezels that are above and below the screen. Apple could increase the screen size, but not increase the overall handset size. Or, it could keep the screen the same size and shrink down the phone.

OLED screens with higher resolution

The iPhone SE (2020), has an IPS LCD display with a resolution of 750 x 1334 pixels. Neither of these is cutting-edge.

There are limits to what a mid-range phone can do. Still, considering that similarly priced phones like the OnePlus Nord or Google Pixel 4a have higher resolutions and OLED technology (which often delivers better contrast than LCD), it is hard to imagine how Apple could justify removing these features from its next iPhone SE model.

We wouldn’t be surprised if either of these phones were available – Apple phones are rarely as good as Android phones in terms of specs.

The battery life is longer.

The iPhone SE 2020 has a 1,821mAh battery. This might seem reasonable considering the device’s small size. However, we found that it did not last more than a day.

It’s not bad, but it’s not great. We’d love to see more from the iPhone SE 3’s battery, whether that’s by increasing its size or making it more efficient.

  1. Keep it small and manageable.

The iPhone SE (2020), stands out because of its small size and relatively low price. We want both of these things to stay with the iPhone SE 3.

There aren’t many phones that are compact anymore, certainly not ones with great specs. iPhones are also known for being very affordable.

More cameras

The iPhone SE 2020 has only one camera, one front and one back. They perform well but don’t offer the same versatility as other lenses.

Even though the iPhone 11 has a dual-lens snapper, we don’t expect much more from it. However, when you consider that other smartphones like the OnePlus Nord or Moto G 5G Plus have four cameras at the back and two at the front, you might think that an additional lens or two is not unreasonable.

Higher refresh rates

A high refresh rate is another feature that many rivals offer. The iPhone SE (2020), has a 60Hz refresh speed. This was the standard for all other handsets, except gaming phones. However, many mainstream models now have refresh rates of 90Hz and 120Hz.

This feature will be available on some iPhone 12 models, but Apple will not likely offer it on the iPhone SE 3. Since no iPhones currently offer high refresh rates, we doubt Apple will show it. Apple is likely to continue to provide the feature as a premium option for a while.

It would be wonderful if the company included this feature as a standard feature. The iPhone SE 3 could have a refresh rate at 90Hz, while the iPhone SE 3 has a 120Hz rate.
