A OnePlus phone that has yet to be released has appeared on the IMEI database. This suggests that the company is currently preparing for the launch of its 2022 range of phones.

The listing was first published on 15 August. It was shared on Twitter By frequent leaker Mukul Sharma (also known as @stufflistings).

It reveals a model number NE2210 but it is not clear if it is a phone made by OnePlus.

It’s challenging to know which model this phone could be at this time, but if you look at the model numbers for 2021, it is possible that it could be a model from 2022.

All of this year’s models have the number “21” after their initial two letters. The OnePlus 9 Pro and 9 Pro are LE2113, LE2123, and the Nord 2 & Nord CE are DN2103 & EB2103.

If future phones follow the same pattern as the current phone, the “22” in NE2210 indicates that there will be a launch sometime in 2022.

The two letters at the beginning of the model number are often related to phone codenames in recent years. The codename of the Nord 2 was Denniz, so DN. The OnePlus 9 series was referred to as ‘Lemonade’, hence LE, while the Nord CE was referred to as ‘Ebba.

It is not clear what the ‘NE” stands for in this latest leak. It could be the new Nord model or a flagship series phone.

This means that we don’t know whether this phone is a mid-ranger priced phone or a powerful, top-tier model. The original leak has no further information.

We are certain that leaks will gain momentum, as is the usual case with OnePlus, as we approach the end of the year.
