All the rumours suggest that Apple will release the iPhone 13. It is widely expected to include the new iPhone, a new Apple Watch, and even a brand new iPad.
Handset Rumours
As is to be expected, every iPhone release will include a variety of handset options. This year’s iPhone release will be no exception. Rumours suggest that there will once again be four variants of the handsets. Names of the handsets are iPhone 13 Mini (or iPhone 13 Pro), iPhone 13 Pro Max (or iPhone 13 Pro Max).
Pre-Order Rumours and Prices
The price of the rumoured new iPhone, like everything Apple is, remains a mystery.
The iPhone 13 could have similar specs to the iPhone 12. Therefore, they anticipate it will have similar prices. Pre-orders will open for the iPhone 13 within a few days of the launch event so that it could be Thursday or Friday.
TechRadar believes that the new iPhone may be priced at around PS799, based on previous launches and Apple’s consistency with pricing points lately – similar to the iPhone 12. If past releases are any indication, there may be an iPhone 13 Mini Pro, Pro, and Pro Max. These are expected to retail for PS699, PS999, and PS1099, respectively.
Design Rumours
The design of the iPhone 12 is not expected to change much. TechRadar reported that the design of the rear camera could be changing. The lenses will be placed in a diagonal arrangement. MacWorld reports that the camera design change could result in a slightly larger bump.
Another design suggestion that has been strongly supported is a smaller notch due to the possibility of a smaller Face ID sensor. The Pro Max and Pro Max situation is very similar, so no significant design changes are anticipated. Rumours surround colour options and stainless steel that is less fingerprint-prone.
We may see new colours with the iPhone 13. There are possibilities of pink, orange, and other colors similar to the 12 as well. All 12 colours of the iPhone are expected to stay.
Display Rumours
Screen sizes and resolutions are expected to be similar to the iPhone 12. Reports suggest that Pro and Pro Max versions may see refresh rates of 120Hz. They hope each potential new handset to have an always-on display. This “always-on” display could allow us to view the time and battery life, as well as notifications.
Camera Rumours
Apple is expected to modify the camera in the new handset series. Rumours range from an upgraded ultra-wide shooter for the pro handsets to an upgraded telephoto lens. A new portrait mode and video recording capabilities are also possible.
Spec Rumours
The A15 chipset will power the handsets, and there are rumours that there may be a 1TB iPhone in 2021. This is the largest iPhone ever produced.
Battery Rumours
Many rumours have circulated about the expected battery for the new iPhone. This is rumoured to be larger than the previous iPhones, offering better battery life.
The mini handset could get an extra 1 hour battery life. Meanwhile, the iPhone 13 and Pro may see a 10% increase in battery capacity. Pro Max will likely see an 18-20% increase in capacity.
Satellite Communication Rumours
Satellite communication is expected to be available on the new iPhone. This would be the first time that an iPhone has received satellite communication. This feature will allow users to send and receive messages and make calls without the need for a 4G or 5G network. This feature is revolutionary for emergency calls, such as if you are stranded without service.
