iOS 15: What Do We Know About It?

Apple created plenty of hype and rumours about its iOS 15 launch, as usual. What do we know?

When is Launch Date

While there’s no official date yet, iOS 15 will likely launch in autumn 2021.

The launch of the iPhone 12 was delayed due to the 2020 pandemic. However, iOS 14 was still being rolled out so that something similar can happen in the future.

Apple’s World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC), takes place in June. There is every possibility that iOS 15 will be officially unveiled at the conference.

Which Phones Are Best?

iOS 15 will be available to all iPhones starting at the iPhone 7 and up. This includes the following:

*iPhone 7 Plus and 7 Plus

*iPhone 8 plus and 8 Plus

*iPhone XR and *iPhone XX

*iPhone XS Max and iPhone XS Max

*iPhone 11 Pro Max and iPhone 11 Pro Max

*iPhone SE (2020).

*iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 max

*iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPhone 12 Pro Pro Max

*iPhones released in 2021 (iPhone 13,)

It does not appear that the iPhone 6s, 6sPlus, or iPhone SE will get iOS 15.

What features are we looking for?

While we don’t know what features iOS 15 will have, there is consensus among tech professionals about what users want. It will include new features, such as widgets and default apps on the lock screen, reading, and presentation mode in FaceTime.

Other features people are interested in seeing include:

  • Superior Siri

Siri is not as good as Google Assistant. However, it is getting better with each upgrade. Siri should be able to answer our questions better since that is its primary purpose. A better answer that isn’t pulled from the internet would be an improvement and more efficient speech recognition.

  • Improved Translate

The iOS 14 update added the translate app. It was an excellent addition. It is, however, limited to 12 languages, making it less useful than Google Translate. This will hopefully be improved with iOS 15.

  • Bring back the App Store Wish List

It’s not clear why Apple decided to eliminate the wish list. It was beneficial to make a list of games and apps you may want to purchase (if you have the money). It is hoped that iOS 15 will bring it back.

  • Improved Notifications

Improvements to iOS notifications have been a long-standing issue. It should be easier for users to delete emails and make them more intuitive.

iPhone users want to see other features include changing the default SMS and improving Apple Maps to cover larger areas.
