Google’s final Android 12 update, which is still in beta testing, will be released in October 2021. The 19 th Android version has been in beta testing since May 2021.

These updates have been tested on select OEM devices and most recent Pixel smartphone owners over the past few months, so when the final release is available, Android users will not be disappointed.

What are the Features?

Material You

Google’s Material Design will improve the digital architecture of smart devices. Android 12 allows for greater flexibility when designing on smartphones, tablets, or laptops. It offers larger buttons, more animations, custom themes and automatic theme colour generation based upon your wallpaper.

Audio and visual Improvements

Improvements will be made to assist the visually impaired by Window manager, Package manager, System Server, Interrupts, and System Server.

Visual improvements like the larger quick tiles make them easier to tap than Android 11’s smaller, round buttons. Although this takes up more screen, it makes it less likely that you will tap the wrong thing.

Quick tiles will now contain the power setting buttons. The power menu can no longer be activated by pressing the power button. Instead, you will be able to activate Google Assistant by pressing the power button.

Audio will be enhanced by MPEG-H 3D Audio, which provides spatial audio for surround sound advancements. It can support up to 64 loudspeaker channels simultaneously or separately.

Android 12 is going to offer a Privacy Dashboard.

Privacy

The new Android 12 update recognizes privacy as an essential aspect of life for most people.

Apps and other sources can be restricted to allow users to limit location, microphone and camera sharing. This will ensure that apps only get an approximate location and that the user only gives permission to use the microphone or camera.

Android 12 will offer users a Privacy Dashboard. The dashboard will provide Android users with a better view of how apps access and use their data. It also includes information about any recent access, the information that was used, and what it was.

With the Android 12 privacy upgrade, users now have more control over how their information is used.

Facial Control

This is a facial recognition feature that Android already has, but it allows the user to switch between the different parts and control the phone using facial expressions.

The next feature may also allow you to control your facial expressions.

One-Handed Mod

Although it may not seem like much, for busy people on the go, the one-handed mode could be advantageous.

You can access one-handed mode by going to settings before you set out. Then, while using your phone all of the information on the screen is easier to reach with one hand.

Notification of Changes

To access the app, tap on the notification displayed on the screen. It’s that simple.

Wi-Fi Sharing Made Easier

With the Android 12 update, it is much easier to share Wi-Fi with your friends than looking for the modem and spinning it around.

Android 11 introduced the QR code feature. Android 12 brings it to the next level with the ability for you to see who is “nearby” You no longer need to scan the QR code. Instead, you can tap on the “nearby button” to select the person you wish to share your Wi-Fi connection with.

When will Android 12 be released?

The August platform stability update was published. This means that beta testing is now over, and the final stages of testing and updates are underway.

Compatible phones can download the latest updates right now, but it is still in beta testing, so you may want to wait until the final release to avoid any bugs. Although the last release date is not yet known, it will be released in October 2021.
