Although The iPhone SE Is A Welcome Addition To Apple’s Range, It’s The iPhone SE Plus That’s Truly Remarkable.

The iPhone SE was launched in May 2020. But what about the iPhone SE Plus. Although there was no indication of a larger version of the iPhone SE at the initial unveiling, there were rumours that a new iPhone SE Plus is in development. It could be significantly different from the iPhone SE.

This is everything you need to know about the rumoured iPhone SE Plus, including pricing rumours and release dates.

When will the iPhone SE Plus go on sale?

Ming-Chi Kuo was the first to report on the possible release of an iPhone SE Plus in December 2019. Kuo, an Apple analyst, has a good track record in Apple releases, so it’s worth paying attention to what he has to say.

Kuo initially claimed that the iPhone SE Plus would release after the iPhone SE. Kuo claimed that the Plus model was not due to be released until the second half of 2021.

According to a July 2021 rumour, Apple could launch the next-generation iPhone SE 3 in 2022. Although the Plus model has not been mentioned, it is possible that Apple could simultaneously announce the iPhone SE 3 and the iPhone SE Plus.

Apple’s top-end 256GB iPhone SE has been discontinued via the Apple Store. However, it is still available from retailers and carriers. This could indicate that Apple is slowing down production in preparation for releasing its next-generation iPhone in early 2022.

The iPhone SE is a great addition to the iPhone lineup

What will the iPhone SE Plus have to offer?

It’s more than a year before the release of the iPhone SE Plus. This should not surprise you. However, there is still some information.

Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple analyst, is our sole source of information on the iPhone SE Plus. Kuo also shared details about the iPhone SE Plus, which is quite different from the iPhone SE.

The iPhone SE has the same design and features as the iPhone 8, with a 4.7in screen and a single 12-Mp rear camera. However, Kuo suggests that the iPhone SE Plus will not mirror the iPhone 8 Plus.

Kuo proposes that the iPhone SE Plus will have a 5.5in or 6.1in screen and, most importantly, a “fullscreen design” similar to the iPhone 12 range. Kuo says that Face ID will not be included in the SE Plus. Some may object to this.

The notch won’t have Face ID smarts to be smaller than the current iPhone range. Kuo claims that the Touch ID sensor will be integrated into the Power button, much like the iPad Air.

This isn’t a new idea. Android counterparts have done this for years. But it will be the first time Apple has integrated a fingerprint scanner into its Power button. It’s logical. iPhone SE Plus will only need to press the power button one time to turn on the display and unlock it. Although it isn’t quite Face ID-level of convenience, it is close.
