The latest Apple iPhone 13 series includes four handsets: iPhone 13 Mini (iPhone 13 Pro), iPhone 13 Pro (iPhone 13 Pro Max) and iPhone 13 Pro Pro (iPhone 13 Pro Max). Each smartphone in this highly-anticipated series comes packed with innovative specs and features. There’s an iPhone 13 for everyone. Below, we explore the unique features of each device.

iPhone 13 Mini

A glance:

  • 5.4-inch Super Retina XDR screen, 1
  • 2MP+12MP rear cam, 12MP front cam,
  • 131.5 x 64.2 x 7.7mm and 141g.

The iPhone 13 Mini measures 5.4 inches and boasts the most minuscule display of the series. However, this tiny device promises a rich viewing experience thanks to its minimal bezels, 85.1% screen ratio, and 85.1% screen-to-body ratio. For maximum durability, the sleek aluminium frame is combined with Gorilla Glass on its rear and Apple’s Ceramic Shield on its front. It’s also IP68 rated for dust and water resistance so it won’t get wet or dirty.

Apple's new Dual Camera System

The Camera

Apple’s most advanced dual-camera system is located on the back of the phone. It consists of a 12MP wide lens that can capture up to 47% more light and a 12MP ultra-wide lens with a 120 degree field of view. This will allow you to capture stunning landscapes. Sensor-shift technology has been added to optical image stabilisation, which allows you to capture sharp images even in unstable hands.

The new Cinematic Mode is another camera feature on board. This dedicated videography setting can be found on all four iPhone 13 models. This mode uses depth effects to focus your subject while filming and intelligently shifts the focus when your subject changes, such as if another person starts talking.

5G

The range includes 5G-ready devices that can download instantly, stream seamlessly, and play lag-free games. With the next-generation A15 Bionic chip, multitasking will be easy with all the devices. The battery can provide up to 15 hours of video playback, so running out of power shouldn’t be a problem. According to Apple, this battery can also charge up wirelessly. You can charge wirelessly using any Qi-certified charger (sold separately) or plugin for 30 minutes to get back up 50% with 20W fast Charging.

iPhone 13

A glance:

  • 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR screen,
  • 12MP+12MP rear cam,
  • 12MP front cam,
  • 146.7 x 71.5 x 7.7mm and
  • 174g.

Let’s now take a closer look at iPhone 13. The second device has many of the exact specifications as the iPhone 13 Mini but additional features. You’ll be able to see the larger 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR screen. It also has the same rounded corners that improve ergonomic comfort. iPhone 13 features Haptic Touch, which allows for a more responsive user experience, and True Tone technology. This intelligently adjusts the brightness and intensity to match your surroundings.

The Camera

Mirroring the setup of the 13 Mini’s camera, the design includes one 12MP wide lens and one 12MP ultra-wide lens. There is also a 2x optical zoom range. This allows you to focus on details without losing clarity. You have many options for photography, including Panorama, Night Mode, Night Mode and Portrait Mode with advanced depth control and bokeh. This allows you to capture stunning headshots and breathtaking views of the countryside. You can record in 4K and use videography features such as Slo-mo and Night mode time-lapse. Audio zoom highlights important sounds and reduces background noise.

Summary

iPhone 13 comes with iOS 15 as standard, just like all other handsets in this series. This means that you can enjoy Apple’s latest operating systems, including SharePlay, which allows you to view TV shows and movies with your family and friends, even if you live far away. The A15 Bionic chip is used in this phone. However, the battery can hold up to 19 hours of video playback.

iPhone 13 Pro

A glance:

  • 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR screen,
  • 12MP+12MP+12MP back camera,
  • 12MP front cam,
  • 146.7 x 71.5 x 7.7mm and
  • 204g.

Although the iPhone 13 Pro appears very similar to iPhone 13, it is made of surgical-grade stainless steel. This gives it a soft matte look. ProMotion technology is included on the 6.1 inch display. It can also be adjusted to refresh at up to 120Hz. This feature is great for smartphone gamers because it allows for smoother transitions and makes graphics more lifelike during gameplay.

The Camera

The iPhone 13 Pro’s camera system features an additional 12MP Telephoto lens. This gives it three lenses total. It also allows for up to 6x optical zoom for more stunning closeups. The 12MP ultra-wide lens, which can focus up to 2cm from you, allows you to be creative and capture stunning macro footage. The camera also features a LiDAR scanner, which allows you to take Night Mode portraits and provides better autofocus in dim light, making it perfect for sunset shots.

Power

The 13 Pro Max and 13 Pro Max have the most power. They are powered by Apple’s A15 Bionic Chip, and a more powerful 5-core GPU that can support a higher refresh rate. Although the battery is slightly larger, it can play 22 hours of video at a maximum. However, the charging capabilities remain the same. You can still use 15W MagSafe charging and 20W fast charging with compatible chargers (sold separately).

iPhone 13 Pro Max
A glance:

  • 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR screen,
  • 12MP+12MP+12MP back camera,
  • 12MP front cam,
  • 160.8 x 7.7mm and
  • 240g.

The iPhone 13 Pro Max is the flagship phone of the series. It features a stunning 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR screen with ProMotion technology. This handset is a great choice if you value video content. You’ll have an immersive viewing experience whether you’re browsing social media or editing your videos.

The camera

You’ll see the same 12-megapixel triple-lens camera system as the 13 Pro. It has three lenses and a maximum of 15x digital zoom. Deep Fusion is a combination of multiple exposures, creating a stunningly detailed image. Six different Portrait Lighting effects are available on the Pro Max camera, including Natural, Studio, and Stage Mono. This ensures that there is a setting for every scenario.

Features

The phone has a high-spec display with so many camera options, it’s no surprise that the power is not a problem. Your handset will run thanks to the A15 Bionic Chip and a 16-core neural processor smoothly. It can handle any combination of complex demands without a problem. With 5G you can surf the internet, use different apps and scroll through photos while on a video call. There is no drop in performance. You won’t be caught short by the Li-Ion battery, which can play up to 28 hours of video.
