Cameras, batteries, screens and more are revealed.
The iPhone 13 range is now revealed. The next major phone launch will be the Google Pixel 6. A big leak has provided much information about what to expect from Google Pixel 6 Pro.
We’ve all heard it before, but hearing it again means there’s an increased likelihood that it’s accurate.
According to rumours:
- the Pixel 6 Pro’s specs include 12GB RAM and a Mali G78 GPU.
- It also boasts a 2x2x4 configuration with chipset cores.
- The Pixel 6 Pro is also claimed to have a 5,000mAh lithium battery with reverse wireless charging.
- It also has a triple-lens rear camera with a 50MP Samsung GN1, a 12MP Sony IMX386 ultra-wide, and a 48MP Sony IMX586 telephoto. The 12MP front camera appears to have a ‘baby’ mode and a motion blur feature.
- It has Active Edge with Rapid Refresh but No Active Edge. – Active Edge is a way to prevent you from squeezing the sides to launch Google Assistant.
- The screen also has 128GB storage, an in-screen fingerprint reader, and a 1440×3120 display with a 120Hz refresh speed. According to the source, this screen can operate at maximum resolution and maximum refresh rate simultaneously.
- The Pixel 6 Pro will power a digital car key application.
- The Pixel 6 Pro is also said to have a Samsung 5G modem and the ability to double-tap the back to launch Google Assistant. But what it doesn’t seem to have is
It is unknown if it has a variable refresh rate (which can shift down when a high rate of refresh is needed), but when the power is lower (such as when using an always-on display), it can drop to 10Hz and 30Hz.
Analysis: Nothing seems impossible here
We’d be careful not to take rumours and leaks too seriously, but in this instance, we believe that most of the details, if not all, are true.
We are likely very close to the launch of the Pixel 6 range, as we expect the phones to arrive in October. And leaks tend to be quite accurate this close to launch.
We’ve already heard a lot of this, so it’s not surprising. While there are some new details, like the claim that Active Edge won’t be present in the future, most of the information is just repeating previous leaks, many of which have been confirmed by reliable sources.
