Google has confirmed that the new Pixel family of phones will be launched in the near future and even showed us the software and phone.

However, it has not revealed all details about the hardware specs. When the phones are finally revealed, that information will be available. It can’t stop leaks giving us a peek under the hood.

A report by XDA Developers sheds light on some of these rumoured specs directly from the Pixel 6 Pro software.

The Pixel 6 Pro Triple-Camera System.
  1. The Pixel 6 Pro will feature reverse wireless charging, which Google calls “Battery Share”. You can place compatible wireless charging products such as earphones or watches on the back to charge your phone quickly.
  2. A feature called “Smooth Display”, which automatically shifts the refresh rate to 60Hz, is also available. The menu system actually mentions 120Hz. This suggests that the Pixel 6 Pro will feature a 120Hz display.
  3. It has a resolution of 3120×1400, which means it is both Quad HD resolution and 120Hz, in line with the Galaxy S21 Ultra.
  4. According to the report, it is not clear if it has an adaptive refresh rate technology, but it can drop to as low as 10Hz when the Always-on Display is active.
  5. The report also mentions UWB (ultra-wideband), which is used often for precision tracking. Apple uses it with the latest iPhones and AirTag.
  6. It will also be equipped with an 8-core processor and 12GB LPDDR5 RAM. There will also be a 128GB storage option. It is expected to have a 5,000mAh battery that will keep it going all day. This processor is Google’s custom processor. It was previously known as Whitechapel but has since been renamed to Tensor by Google.
  7. The Pixel 6 Pro will feature a triple-camera system for its cameras.
  8. Samsung’s 50-megapixel GN1 sensor leads the primary lens. It is claimed that the primary lens will be joined by a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens and a 48-megapixel zoom lens.

The Pixel 6 Pro will not only have a striking design, but it will also come with flagship capabilities. While it is impossible to know how accurate these specifications will be, they sound plausible. Google will confirm this information, as usual.
