The Galaxy S21 FE will likely be available this year. The Galaxy S20FE was a compelling flagship-tier smartphone. It was an incredible value when compared to the Galaxy S20 series and Note 20 series. The S20 FE was a popular smartphone.
It shouldn’t surprise that Samsung is planning and possibly already preparing for a Galaxy S21 FE. We’ll compare the phones based on what we know.
Samsung Galaxy S21 S21 FE vs Galaxy S21 S21: Design and display
The Galaxy S20 FE, a slimmer, more plastic version of last year’s S20, was released. Although plastic may seem bad on a Galaxy S smartphone, Samsung has created a plastic-glass hybrid which feels very premium. Samsung used that material to lower the price of the Galaxy S21.
Samsung designed the S21 series’ camera module to blend with the device’s frame, creating a smooth contour. The Galaxy S21 FE is expected to do the same, rather than having the module stand out on its own.
According to the S21 FE, it will be available in six colours: Navy, Lavender Mint, Red Mint, White, and Orange. The S21 is available in Phantom Violet, Phantom Pink and Phantom White, as well as Phantom Gray.
Samsung chose a 6.5-inch FHD+ panel with a variable refresh rate for the S21’s display. Displays can be set to either downclock at 48 Hz or turn up to 120 Hz if needed. To save battery, you could lock the show at 60Hz. This makes a significant difference in that phone’s performance. The display of the Galaxy S21 FE will look similar to the S21, but there are rumors that it may be slightly larger.
Samsung Galaxy S21 FE vs. Galaxy S21: Cameras
We don’t know anything about the Galaxy S21FE’s front-facing cameras. According to leaked information, it will have a 32MP central shooter. This should be quite good.
Three rear cameras are available on the Galaxy S21: a 12MP wide-angle, 12MP ultrawide and 64MP telephoto with 3x zoom. To keep costs down, it is possible that the S21 FE may reduce the resolution and zoom capabilities of the telephoto lens.
Samsung Galaxy S21 FE vs. Galaxy S21: Performance
Here is where you’ll see the Galaxy S21 FE and Galaxy S21 feature parity. This model uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 processor and 8GB RAM. Samsung may lower the RAM to 6GB for the S21 FE, however.
The S21 FE will likely have 128GB storage as its initial storage option, but it remains to be determined if it offers higher storage options.
Samsung Galaxy S21 FEE vs. Galaxy S21 S21: Battery life & charging
Battery life is one area where the Galaxy S21 FE might significantly improve over the Galaxy S21. We hope that Samsung will make the S21 FE larger than the S21 FE to allow for a larger battery.
Samsung borrowed a page from Apple and sent the S21 series without chargers. Fast charging is limited to 25W on the Galaxy S21. Faster charging is unlikely to be available on the S21 FE.
Samsung Galaxy S21 FE vs. Galaxy S21: Outlook
We have one last thought. If Samsung reduces the price, the Galaxy S21 FE could be a threat to the A52 5G’s success, which is more affordable.
Galaxy S21 FE is more of a mystery than it answers. The S21 FE may be the answer to a question no one asked. It doesn’t appear like we have an FE model for this year. It will sell well, considering that it would be cheaper to join the Galaxy S family.
