The Samsung Galaxy S21 appears to offer a decent upgrade to the Galaxy S20. The S21 Ultra is expected to be a major player in the super premium market. Let’s dive deeper into the implications of this for the Samsung Galaxy S21 release.
When will the Samsung Galaxy S21 be released?
In Europe, the release date for the Samsung Galaxy S21 was January 29th. This release date is much earlier than the previous Samsung flagship releases, which usually come out about a month later. We hope that you are excited to have the new Samsung sooner than usual.
Samsung Galaxy S21 key features
What’s there to be excited about with the new Samsung? There are bound to be many new and exciting features in the Samsung Galaxy S21, which is their latest entry in the flagship range.
The models share many of the same features, however, the Plus and Ultra models have some extra or more premium features. All three models will use the Exynos 2100 chipset, with the 12MP ultrawide resolution on all three. The software will be identical on all three phones. They will have 120Hz refresh rate and the same software. However, the Ultra will be adaptive. The Ultra is compatible with the S Pen stylus.
Each model comes with either 128gb, 256gb, and the Ultra offers 256gb storage options. All models are 5G-enabled.
Galaxy S21 Camera
Both the S21 and S21 Ultra share the same camera hardware. The main lens has 12MP, and the telephoto lens has 64MP. The S21 Ultra has a slightly more advanced camera, offering a 108MP lens, an optical 10MP Lens, and a 12MP ultra-wide camera. The Ultra has a larger camera block.
Galaxy S21 Display Size & Weight
The Galaxy S21 base model will have a 6.2-inch Full HD+ screen, which is the smallest of all three. It weighs in at 171g, which is also the lightest model. The S21 Plus features a 6.7 inch Full HD+ display. This means you get the exact same display but slightly larger. The phone also weighs in at 202g. Full HD+ keeps the phones affordable.
Samsung S21 Ultra gets a significant upgrade with a 6.8 inch WQHD+ display. This makes the handset not only larger, but also sharper and brighter. The handset is now larger, weighing in at 220g.
Samsung Galaxy S21 Battery
Every model is rated differently in terms of battery life. The Samsung Galaxy S21 has a 4,000mAh battery, while the S21 Plus has a 4,800mAh and the Galaxy S21 Ultra has a 5,000mAh. These batteries are usually enough to last you for a whole day.
Samsung Galaxy Design & Colours
Both the Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus and S21 Plus come with a flat screen and three camera lenses at the back. The S21 comes in four colours: violet, pink grey, white, and gray, while the S21 Plus is available only in three colors; silver, black, and violet.
The S21 Ultra features a curved screen and a larger camera block at the rear. This blocks four lenses. The S21 Ultra is only available in silver or black.
What accessories are included in the Samsung Galaxy S21?
While previous models of the Samsung Galaxy have had both headphones and charging blocks come as a standard, the S21 is going to follow in the footsteps of the iPhone 12 launch and remove from the box as standard. Samsung claims this is done to reduce e-waste. If you require headphones or a charging pad, you will need to buy them separately. Although the lack of a charging block might seem like a problem, there is still a USB cable in the box. This will allow you to charge your device if you have a USB port or an existing block.
